About Phillip Barnhard
As a digital storyteller, my job is to sprinkle movie magic on every project I touch. Whether it’s concepting, scripting, videography or editing, my ultimate focus is to bring creative ideas to a media player or site nearest you. Now meet my better halves.
Phillip at Work
As a youngster, I would spend summers making homemade movies using a VHS camera and whatever nearby talent I could muster. My friends and I would channel our inner Tarantino or Spielberg to create an amazing story. Nowadays that vintage footage provides nothing more than nostalgic head-slaps and groans.
After bouts with journalism and public relations, the creative outlet found its way back into my professional career. I started at M/C/C as a public relations writer. In between writing press releases and articles, I retaught myself Final Cut Pro and learned new video editing tools, all the while infusing the same writing and analytical skills I developed along the way. I then moved into a full-time video production position. I also dabble in photography, motion graphics and voice acting.
Skills: Apple Final Cut Studio; Adobe Creative Suite, including Premiere Pro, After Effects, Photoshop, InDesign and Encore; Dragonframe Stop Motion Software; iStopMotion Software; Microsoft Office
Phillip at Home
I'm a pretty relaxed guy. I enjoy spending time with my wife, Claire, and my two children Noah (6) and Grace (3). I find working with my hands sadistically therapeutic. I built a new 8-foot, board-on-board fence in our backyard. I also constructed washerboards for some backyard fun, remodeled our master bathroom and converted an old Coke machine into a rustic beer dispenser. When not bettering the home, you'll find me cheering on the Texas Rangers, Dallas Cowboys and my Texas Tech Red Raiders.
Skills: Golf, tennis, backyard wiffle ball, off-road biking, outdoor sporting, craft beer tasting, gardening, sandwich making, dish washing and playing with the kids.
